If fast food restaurants have to pay a min of $15/hr, employees will be fired so others can make $15. Those remaining will have to take up the slack. Prices will increase and hours of operation for the restaurants will decrease. How is that a better situation?
As much as I feel for the workers, the industry cannot sustain this wage for workers and survive. At $15, fast food joints would have to severely cut the number of workers, and raise prices. In turn, they would lose business. At $15, they would not hire teenagers. There are reasons that these are starting wage jobs.
